Sometimes a pretty donut is in order…
There are some colors that aren’t necessarily crowd pleasers, but can be amazing when they are done right–mustard yellow seems to be the perfect example of this. Even though this yellow-hue can be a bit intimidating to some, we are loving how down-right cheery and beautiful these mustard SOIREE details are…
Do you love mustard yellow as much as we do?

It’s almost the weekend and you know what that means…cocktail time! Today’s luscious libation is on of my all-time favorite cocktails, a spicy paloma. There is really nothing better than fresh grapefruit juice and the kick from the jalapeño makes this Soiree Sipper something special!
What You’ll Need:
- Muddled jalapeños
- Fresh grapefruit juice
- Agave nectar
What To Do:
- Muddle 2-3 jalapeños in a cocktail shaker with a lime wedge [make sure to extract the oils from the lime rind] and 1/2 teaspoon of agave nectar
- Add 1 1/2 shots of blanco tequila and a heavy pour of fresh grapefruit juice
- Shake well and serve on the rocks

Favors can be a great way to add personality to a SOIREE…however, many clever DIY-ers make the common mistake of forgetting that people that attend an affair often had to travel to get there [either by plane, car, or even boat]. With that said, those adorable little succulent favors that you hand-planted yourself will very likely end up being left behind in the hotel room. It’s best to keep it simple rather than spending a ton of time and money on something that will be appreciated, but quickly forgotten about. Edible favors are always a good way to go, or something that your guests can use during their stay wherever your SOIREE takes place. As long as it’s easily transportable and represents your personality, your guest will be thrilled to have a little gift to remind them that you are grateful for their presence.
There are so many clever favor ideas out there–the hard part is picking a favorite. And don’t forget, it’s easy to underestimate the cost of favors so keep that in mind when you are coming up with what you would like to give to your guests [$3 a favor for 150 guests = $450!]
